General Safer Studio Health & Safety Protocols

Happy Makers Studio requires all staff and students to stay home when they are ill. In order to reduce community spread of Coronavirus, we follow best practices and recommendations from our local health department. Happy Makers Studio understands that unlike older children and adults, young children cannot be expected to maintain social distancing at all times. Therefore Happy Makers Studio focuses on a hierarchy of measures beginning with keeping ill people home, followed by frequent hand cleaning and good hygiene practices, amplified cleaning, and curricular and facility adaptations to minimize contact and mingling where possible.
● The lobby is closed to viewing.
● There is no food allowed in the sewing room. Snacks are permitted during designated
snack times. Sewing students will be asked to wash their hands before snack time. Campers/students
must bring their own snacks and waters in closed containers.
● Desks are set up 6ft apart to maintain social distancing.
● Signage is posted outside and inside to remind campers/students and staff of social distancing
and hand washing.
● Social Distancing plan has been shared with all staff and volunteers. It is posted on the doors, in the sewing room and lobby.
● Teachers and staff will wear masks, but sewing students will have the option to wear masks while in class.
● Parents will be asked to sign a release of liability waiver. The waiver is attached,
please sign it and send it with your student on the first day of camp.
● Campers will have their
own set of designated craft supplies provided.
● Each student will place his or her personal items in a cubby while maintaining 6 feet from other children placing their items in a designated area.
● Students and staff members will use hand sanitizer before they enter the sewing studio and when they exit the sewing studio.
Cleaning protocols
● The studio is cleaned daily before, after, and in-between classes with a disinfectant to fight Covid-19.
● Bathrooms are cleaned daily with a disinfectant to fight the spread of Covid-19.
● After each class, all high touch surfaces are wiped down with a disinfectant to fight the spread of Covid-19. The contact time for our disinfectant is 1 minute.
Drop off and pick up procedures protocols
● Sewing students will be dropped off in designated drop-off areas in front of the studio.

● Parents will be asked health screening questions at drop-off and a temperature check will be taken by a touch less thermometer before the child enters the studio.
● Sewing students cannot be dropped off more than 15 minutes early for class and MUST be picked up promptly at the camp end-time.
● The Teacher will spray your child’s hands with hand sanitizer prior to entering and exiting the sewing studio.
